Water levels on the Ottawa River in the Pembroke area are hovering near historic lows.
Levels have been on the decline since the end of July.
According to information provided by the Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board, levels and flows at most locations on the main locations on the main stem of the Ottawa River are below normal for this time of the year and are expected to remain fairly stable.
The previous low recorded on the Ottawa River in Pembroke for September 14th was 110.89 meters in 1975.
A new low for September 14th has been set as levels on the Ottawa River in Pembroke were recorded at 110.84 meters this morning (2021).
It’s a drastic change for local residents who experienced severe flooding in the spring of 2019.
