The Beachburg Lions Club makes a donation to support "Papa Walks" for Hospice Renfrew.
83-year-old Russell Mckay and his family have a busy weekend ahead!
The Beachburg resident, known as Papa to many, is legally blind and diabetic and planning to stop for a 5 kilometer walk in communities across the Ottawa Valley to raise money for Hospice Renfrew.
The Clinical Services Coordinator at Hospice Renfrew, Cindy Stafford, says local support and donations go a long-way to helping provide care.
Today (October 8th, 2021), walks will be in Petawawa and Deep River.
Tomorrow, Papa will be walking in Pembroke, Cobden and Deep River.
Sunday the 10th of October Papa will walk in Arnprior with a wrap up parade in Renfrew.
Papa plans to start walking at 9:00am and 1:00pm.
Donations to support Hospice Renfrew can either be made in-person at the walks, or online.
