Plans are in the works to build 86 new long-term care spaces in Deep River.
In March of this year, the province approved 86 new long-term care beds to the Deep River Campus of Care – Four Seasons Lodge Expansion project.
Work includes redeveloping the existing 10 long-term care beds in the Four Seasons Lodge, for a total of 96 beds.
The $29-million facility will be built on land owned by the Deep River and District Hospital between the “Campus of Care” and ambulance base off of Banting Drive.
This space borders the Four Seasons Conservancy lands and about half of the land is currently forested and would be cleared as needed.
Ground breaking on the project is expected in 2022 and with a 24-month construction timeline, the first residents could move in by 2024.
The new long-term care home will be close to the Deep River and District Hospital and North Renfrew Family Health Team facility, enabling ease of access and flow, as well as integration of services between multiple sectors of our local healthcare framework.
Deep River council received an update on the project at their October 6th meeting.
The design concept for the new 96-bed facility is based heavily on the newly constructed Groves facility
of the same size in Arnprior.
