The Petawawa Sports and Entertainment Hall of Fame is looking for nominees to enter the Class of 2022.
Deputy Mayor and President of the Petawawa Sports and Entertainment Hall of Fame, Gary Serviss says they are looking ahead to host the ceremony on Thursday, June 30th, 2022.
He adds they will also welcome the Class of 2020, as the ceremony has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2020 inductees are Tracy Annand (Alpine Skier), Hector Clouthier Sr. (Horse Racing), Ed Chow (Builder), Brian Mohns (Builder) and Joshua Bartholomew (Music).
The class of 2020 will be joining previous inductees Ray Sheppard, Roy Giesebrecht, Jason Blaine, Joshua Hopkins, Fred Molson and Willard Mohns.
The Petawawa Sports and Entertainment Hall of Fame is located at the Civic Centre and inducts classes every two years.
Serviss says next year’s ceremony will takes place during the 25th anniversary of the amalgamation of the Town of Petawawa and Petawawa Township.
He adds so many gifted athletes, entertainers and builders have been associated with Petawawa’s last 25 years, and Petawawa’s long history before that.
Nominations for the Class of 2022 are being accepted until November 15th.
Nomination forms and volunteer forms can be picked up and dropped off at the Petawawa Civic Centre Recreation Office.
