The Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour with Ron MacLean and Tara Slone is coming to Hockeytown Canada. It was announced last night that Canada’s ultimate hockey festival is coming to Pembroke from December 4th to the 6th. Rogers Hometown Hockey festival will coincide with both the 70th anniversary of the Pembroke Memorial Centre and the 50th anniversary of Pembroke’s incorporation as a city.
The national Rogers Hometown Hockey broadcast on Sportsnet and hosted by Ron MacLean and Tara Slone will take place on December 6 live from the parking lot of the Pembroke Memorial Centre. Local hockey fans will be able to take in the sights, sounds and spectacle of a national broadcast in their own backyard, in accordance with local health guidelines. We invite residents to join Ron and Tara outside for the broadcast as Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche take on Claude Giroux and the Philadelphia Flyers that evening.
In a statement, Mayor Mike LeMay says “We are thrilled to showcase our city to a national audience and show all of Canada the things and the people which make Pembroke special, while also giving our residents a weekend of entertainment to enjoy.”
Returning in a reimagined format, the free, fan-favourite festival will feature a full weekend of hockey-themed activities, local vendors and live entertainment – all in compliance with local and provincial health regulations. Enhanced festival protocols for entry will include proof of full vaccination, mandatory face masks, social distancing, touchless activations, digital ticketing, contact tracing and health questionnaires.
