Santa parades are back in the Upper Ottawa Valley this year.
Last night (November 8th, 2021), council gave the green light for a Santa Claus parade in Petawawa on Saturday, December 4th.
Recreation Programmer in Petawawa, Colin Coyle says the parade will start at 6:00pm at the Petawawa Plaza and end at the Civic Centre with a Christmas tree lighting.
The Pembroke Santa Parade will take place the following weekend, December 11th at 5:00pm.
The theme of the Pembroke Santa Claus Parade is Christmas in the Valley.
Everyone is reminded to keep 2 meters apart from people outside of your household and wear a mask if the distance cannot be maintained.
Due to current regulations, those participating in the parade will not be able to give out candy or items to those spectating so they are able to maintain their 2 meters of social distance.
If you are interested in putting a float in the Pembroke parade, sponsoring the parade or have any questions please contact the Recreation Department at 613-735-6821 ext. 1501 or email recreation@pemborke.ca.
