Plans are in the works to host the first ever Water and Dirt Festival in the Upper Ottawa Valley.
Recreation Programmer for the Town of Petawawa Colin Coyle says it’s partnership between Petawawa, Pembroke, Laurentian Valley and the Township of North Algona Wilberforce.
Coyle adds the festival will highlight some of the natural features Renfrew County has to offer.
Some of the events planned as part of the first Water and Dirt Festival include paddling on the Ottawa River, running and mountain bike competitions at Forest Lea, a kayak fishing tournament on Lake Dore, a skateboard competition, bike park competition and more.
Coyle adds there will be different events every day and stuff for the public to enjoy as well.
The plan is to have the Water and Dirt festival over a ten day period from August 4th to 14th, 2022.
The recreation programmer in Petawawa says they still have some planning to do and adds they will release more details with the public shortly.
