There is a winter weather travel advisory in effect.
Environment Canada says periods of rain or drizzle will change to snow overnight as cold air floods into the region and temperatures begin to fall.
Total snowfall amounts of 5cm are expected by the time the snow tapers off late Friday afternoon or in the evening.
Falling temperatures and accumulating snow will lead to icy and hazardous road conditions.
Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
Slow down driving in slippery conditions.
Watch for tail lights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
