If you’re planning to drink or do drugs, don’t drive.
That’s the message from local police this holiday season.
Constable Shawn Peever with the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP says the Festive RIDE (reduce impaired driving everywhere) campaign is underway.
He says RIDE checkpoints can be set up at any time of day or night and adds in the first week one driver was charged in Petawawa.
Peever says trained officers are able to detect impairment by alcohol or drugs.
The Festive RIDE campaign continues until January 2nd, but local police are always looking to keep local roadways and communities safe.
