OPP stuff a cruiser event raises $3,200 and thousands of dollars worth of food and toys

The “Stuff a Cruiser” event in the Upper Ottawa Valley was a huge success.

The OPP Auxiliary Unit held their 13^th annual event on Saturday, December 4th, 2021.

Officers were set up at Giant Tiger, No Frills, Walmart and Hyska’s Your Independent Grocer.

Over $3,200 in cash and thousands of dollars in food and toy donations were received.

Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Detachment Commander Steph Neufeld says the support from the community for this annual event is truly overwhelming.

Neufeld adds whether it was one toy or one grocery item, or a whole cartload in some cases, the generosity from the public was on full display.

The Detachment Commander says the commitment from the Auxiliary Officers to this annual event is unwavering and inspiring.

The stuff a cruiser event turned into a stuff a U-Haul event to transport all the toys and donations.

All donations went directly to the local Kiwanis Club Toy Drive, St. Joseph’s Food Bank in Pembroke and the Petawawa Pantry food bank in Petawawa.
