The Renfrew County and District Health Unit along with the Renfrew County District School Board, is confirming that an additional student from Champlain Discovery Public School in Pembroke has tested positive for COVID-19. An outbreak has been declared as the health unit says there is now evidence of transmission within the school, meeting the provincial definition of a confirmed outbreak. Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19, as well as the affected cohorts, are self-isolating while the school remains open for in-person learning. The RCDHU is working closely with the RCDSB to ensure necessary measures continue to be in place within the facility, actively investigating the cases, and monitoring the situation.
