The Pembroke Fire Department is getting some new gear.
The self contained breathing apparatus and accessories will cost just over $172,000 plus HST.
Self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) are used to provide clean and breathable air in environments where there may be oxygen deficiencies, smoke, dust, gas and vapours, such as at a fire.
The Pembroke Fire Department budgeted $175,000 for the equipment this year.
Council approved the request from Chief Scott Selle at the December 7th municipal meeting.
