UPDATE: As a result of this investigation the 23 year-old driver of the tractor trailer, from Winnipeg, has been charged with failure to stop at a red light.
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP are investigating a massive collision on Highway 17 this morning that sent three people to hospital. The crash, just after 6:30 this morning involved two passenger vehicles and a tractor trailer.
The driver of one of the involved passenger vehicles was extricated by the LVTP Fire Department and flown from the scene by ORNGE to an Ottawa Hospital with serious injuries. A passenger from the same vehicle and the driver of the other involved passenger vehicle were both taken to local hospital by land ambulance with minor injuries. The driver and passenger in the tractor trailer were not injured.
Highway 17 remains closed between B Line Road and Round Lake Road with local detours in place. The investigation is continuing and updates will be provided as they become available.
