Tina serves as the Executive Director of Community Living Upper Ottawa Valley. She often tells people that she grew up in the organization as Williams started when she was just 21-years-old. Working for such a staple organization in the community, Williams says it’s taught her that thinking inclusively is what works best for everyone. She mentions that the pandemic has unfortunately played a major roll over the past two years and struggles continue with resources. Going forward, Williams tells myFM that no contribution is to small to Community Living. She encourages everyone who can incorporate a person with disabilities in their life to do so. Stating that it’s rewarding and the benefits reach far beyond the individual involved. Williams says that she’s proud Community Living has moved to more individualized supports with closed congregate settings. The move has give more control to people to make their own decisions based on who they live with and where they live. Which employment fits best for them as well. All of which goes to enhancing the quality of life.
