The Grind Pembroke, has opened a Warming Centre at their new location on Victoria Avenue to provide the area’s homeless population with a safe, warm, indoor space for the remaining winter months.
The Warming Centre will be open seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. until the end of March.
In addition to providing lunches from Tuesday to Friday, the Warming Centre at the Grind will provide warm beverages and snacks and access to washroom facilities.
The Grind says staff will be available to refer homeless clients to other community supports and to Ontario Works’ Homeless Crisis Line where emergency shelter in local motels can be arranged.
The Warming Centre is made possible through generous provincial COVID-19 relief funding administered by the County of Renfrew’s Community Services Division and from Mental Health Services of Renfrew County.
