COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: New medical and retail development planned outside of Pembroke

Plans are coming together for a new medical and retail building just outside of Pembroke, in the Township of Laurentian Valley.

In December of 2021, council was updated on plans from the developer, “Pembroke Valley Market Center“, for a multi-phased development/redevelopment of the site at 1126 Pembroke Street East.

The property is at the corner of Pembroke Street East (Highway 148) and Robinson Lane, roughly located between the Home Depot and Walmart.

Preliminary plans for the development show two units with the potential for 1,500 square feet with another business with a drive-thru that’s already leased out.

A sign has gone up with information about leasing opportunities which are expected to become available late in 2022.

The proposed entrance and exit to the property is off of Robinson Lane with the new businesses to be bordering Pembroke Street East.

The area is expected to see a lot of development with three new apartment buildings planned in the vacant lot behind Home Depot off Robinson Lane.
