Residents in Petawawa, Pembroke, and Laurentian Valley will be getting their new waste collection calendars soon.
The Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre has announced that they will be mailed out over the week of March 21.
Through a press release, Mark Behm, Public Works Manager for the Township of Laurentian Valley, says that “Residents should review the sorting guide included in the schedule” as it will show residents how to “safely dispose of special material such as batteries and hazardous waste.”
The complete information kit features:
• 12-month calendar outlining collection days using symbols.
• A map to determine collection days.
• A detailed list outlining what is accepted in the yellow bin, green cart, blue box and garbage.
This is detachable from the calendar to be posted in a convenient location for regular review.
• Information on proper set-out requirements such as clearance around the green cart, weight
and size limits of material and proper placement of collection containers.
• Details on special pick-ups such as leaf & yard waste and large item collection.
• Information on Electronic & Hazardous Waste including the 2022 Environmental Days.
The new collection schedule for Pembroke, Petawawa, and Laurentian Valley goes into effect April 1. You can expect your physical copy by March 30, or get it online at ovwrc.com
