There’s no need to panic if you see smoke coming from the Garrison Petawawa Range and Training area this spring.
Military firefighters are doing prescribed burning operations in certain areas.
The burning is done by the Garrison Petawawa Fire Department to eliminate fire hazards before the hot summer months arrive.
The military says smoke may be seen or smelled over the next three months coming from the range and training area.
Air quality could also be affected for short periods of time, but there is no cause for alarm as fully trained fire fighters will be in the area controlling the situation.
