It’s race weekend for Beachburg’s Nathan Blok.
The 28-year-old started racing go-carts at the age of six and transitioned to racecars by the time he was 15.
Blok is a three time champion and is looking to improve on his performance at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park track over the Victoria Day weekend where a tornado touched down on the track and one person was struck by lightning.
Blok says despite the weather and some race cancellations, they finished in the middle of the pack.
Blok says he knows the Calabogie Motorsports Park like the back of his hand, but adds his new team, APEX V2R Racing, is still fine tuning the cars engine and he’s currently running about 30 horsepower below his competitors.
Blok is aiming for a first place finish, but says he would be happy in the top five.
Blok says his car is suited for the track and all the corners at Calabogie.
Blok thanked all his local sponsors for support such as Napa Auto Parts in Pembroke, Sun Sign Graphics, and H&H Construction.
Blok will be racing his Scion FRS in the Production Class of the Super Production Challenge.
Blok has two races on Saturday, June 4th and one on Sunday, June 5th, 2022.
He says to come by the Calabogie Motorsports Track this weekend and look for the APEX V2R Racing trailer.
Tickets for the Calabogie Spring Classic race weekend are available online only ($20 for adults, free for kids under 12).
