A campaign to fill shoeboxes with medical supplies and send them over to Ukraine was a huge success. Facilitating Director Sheena Lubitz says they collected 200 boxes with roughly $5,000 in supplies.
Audio PlayerLubitz tells myFM the operations manager for Ukraine Medical Support came from Toronto on his own time and own money to pick up the supplies.
Audio PlayerLubitz says the support from the community was amazing. Lubitz wanted to give a big thank you to everyone who helped out.
Audio PlayerMulvihill Drug Mart made a huge donation of medical supplies, the Grind in Pembroke donated a big box of tupperware, the dental office of Dr. Bruce Harle dropped off 300 toothbrushes and 300 tubes of toothpaste, Fresco’s Tap and Grill fed the volunteers, Moncion Metro provided drinks, Tim Horton’s supplied coffee, doughnuts and muffins, Staples offered up office supplies and Zion Lutheran Church was used as the space to collect the items.
Lubitz encourages local residents to support other initiatives in the community whenever possible.
