County Councillor and Deep River Reeve Glenn Doncaster will once again represent Renfrew County’s voice on the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. As a member of the 75-seat board of directors, Councillor Doncaster will help set policy priorities that reflect the concerns of municipal governments. Renfrew County Warden Debbie Robinson says she is confident that Doncaster will represent Renfrew County well and bring his voice to a number of areas of particular concern to our rural communities.
“After two years of working tirelessly on the frontlines to support Canadians during the pandemic, there’s still much work to do to tackle our country’s greatest challenges, such as the housing crisis and protecting our communities from climate extremes,” he said. “Municipal leaders were loud and clear in Regina – we’re eager to continue working with our federal partners to meet these issues head on, because when our orders of government work together, we move this country forward.”
FCM has been the national voice of municipal government since 1901. The members include more than 2,000 municipalities of all sizes, from Canada’s cities and rural communities to northern communities and 20 provincial and territorial municipal associations. Together, they represent more than 90 per cent of all Canadians.
