You can get ice cream at the top of the “World’s Shortest Downhill”, Mount Molson in Petawawa. Owner Zoe Nolan says her grandfather Fred Molson operated the Mount Molson Ski Hill and talked about opening an ice cream shop back in the 1970’s.
Audio PlayerZoe and her mother Tanya opened the dairy bar in 2021, but a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony with town staff, the mayor and members of the business community was held this morning (Thursday, June 23rd, 2022).
Tanya says they are thrilled to be able to share the beautiful view with everyone and have a little treat at the same time.
Audio PlayerZoe says people usually make a comment about how nice the view is and are surprised that they have roughly 30 different flavours of ice cream available.
Audio PlayerThe Mount Molson Dairy Bar on Laurentian Drive in Petawawa is open 7-days a week from 11:00am to 8:00pm.
Zoe says last year the dairy bar stayed open until October 31st and they reopened on hers and her grandmothers birthday on March 28th. She says while it’s usually still pretty cold that time of year, the ice cream doesn’t melt as fast.
