A multi-use pathway will be built in Foresters Falls as part of an upcoming construction project.
The Township of Whitewater Region is partnering with the County of Renfrew on the rehabilitation of Foresters Falls Road (County Road 7). The County of Renfrew has approved $884,000 in work along Foresters Falls Road from Harriet Street to the start of the semi-urban section. The project includes the replacement as of asphalt, concrete curbs, installation of subdrains. Work is expected to start at the beginning of August and wrap up on October 7th.
At the same time the major road work takes place in Foresters Falls, the Township will be installing a multi-use pathway to provide active transportation options for local residents. The 3-meter wide multi-use pathway would be on the opposite side of the road as the current concrete sidewalk. A pedestrian crossover would also be built near Howard Street to safely access the multi-use pathway. Whitewater Region approved the work at the end of June and County Council has awarded the contracts to Greenwood Paving out of Pembroke.
Last summer, the County of Renfrew completed another $472,000 in work on Foresters Falls Road.
More details on the project are available online.
