The Township of Bonnechere Valley has received an update on plans for a large scale military training operation planned in Foymount.
Representatives from 2 Service Battalion at Garrison Petawawa presented to township council on July 12th.
Up to 400 troops and 200 vehicles are expected to participate in the training in the training over the course of three days.
Vehicles are expected to move into Foymount on October 12th and the community will have an opportunity to see some of the equipment while troops are in Bonnechere Valley on Saturday, October 15th.
Bonnechere Valley Mayor Jennifer Murphy joked that Foymout will be the safest place in Canada during the training operation.
Some residents raised concerns about live fire and where the soldiers will be training.
Garrison Petawawa say there will be no live ammunition, no pyrotechnics and no helicopters used during the training.
