You can register now for the 2nd annual Doggy Paddle event in support of the Ontario SPCA Renfrew County Animal Centre.
Community Development Coordinator Heather Jobe says they want to see as many two, three and four legged friends out at Melissa Bishop Park Beach on Lake Dore for the Doggy Paddle event on Sunday, August 14th.
Paddlers will leave from the beach at 10:00am and go up Shaw Creek to Shaws Pond.
The cost for the doggy paddle event is $45 and includes a custom event t-shirt, event swag and lunch.
There’s also a community relay race happening during the Doggy Paddle event.
Teams are asked to fundraise a minimum of $250 to compete in the relay race with all funds going to support animals in need in our community.
All paddlers will need a safety kit and lifejackets are required.
Lifejackets are also recommended for all animals too.
If you don’t have a stand-up paddleboard, kayak or canoe, you can send an email to hjobe@ontariospca.ca to reserve one at no cost.
Registration is required for the event and you can sign up for the Doggy Paddle online here.
