It’s been a busy week for the first ever Pembroke Culture Fest. The week long festival kicked off on Saturday, August 13th, with a giant puppet show on Victoria Street in Pembroke called the River is Sacred.
Event Coordinator Dorian Pearce says the puppet performance was hosted by Studio Dreamshare, EcoPembroke and Catherine Moeller from Toronto.
Pearce says they spent several hours doing the body paint on the performers the day of the show and a few weeks building the giant puppets.
Other events for Culture Fest Pembroke included a paint night on the patio, an indigenous blanket exercise, the champagne kick off and rebranding of the museum in Pembroke, workshops and live music.
Pembroke Culture Fest continues with more workshops, entertainment, curbside karaoke and wraps up on Saturday, August 20th with the 7th annual Multi Cultural Festival at the Waterfront Park in Pembroke.
