A flower shop downtown Pembroke is giving carnations to long-term care homes in the area. Hazel Smith, the Floral Manager at Chahna Fai and Church Street Flowers, says when you buy a dozen carnations they will give a dozen to local long-term care homes.
Smith says they will be doing this for the rest of the month of August and they’ve had good support from the community.
The buy a dozen give a dozen carnation promotion is also supporting long-term care homes in Barry’s Bay and Barrie, Ontario where Chahna Fai and Church Street Flowers has other locations.
In Pembroke the flowers will be brought to Miramichi Lodge and Marianhill and in Barry’s Bay the carnations will go to Valley Manor.
