Mack Thrasher has been volunteering his time in the community for over 50-years. Thrasher is a legion member, member of the Kiwanis Club and been involved with the Salvation Army, the Easter Seals telethon and most recently the Christmas Toy and Food Drive. The annual holiday toy and food drive has raised over $100,000 in the last three years with donations split between the Grind and St. Josephs Food Bank in Pembroke. Thrasher has lived in the community his whole life and says anytime they ask for help, people in the Ottawa Valley always respond.
