Maureen Thompson has been volunteering for over 40-years. She currently coordinates the myFM radio bingo in support of the Robbie Dean Centre and helps out with the Festival of Trees event in support of the Renfrew County Child Poverty Action Network (CPAN). Thompson first started volunteering in Trenton, Kingston and has volunteered her time in the Pembroke area for the last 20-years. She’s worked with the Canadian Cancer Society, Rotary Club and a few other organizations. Thompson says she started volunteering to give back to the community and help others lead a brighter future adding it also helps with your mental health. Thompson says her favourite part of volunteering is getting together with other people and sharing ideas on how to help. She says make the call to an organization of your passion, meet new people and have fun.
