Mapleside Sugarbush will be taking part in the first ever Farms Open event. Owner Ray Bonenburg says they will be doing tours of the sugaring operation and boiling water to show how the evaporator works.
Bonenburg says the Farms Open event is a great opportunity to show people where food comes from and how it’s made.
Mapleside Sugarbush will also be selling some specialty products such as maple butter, maple BBQ sauce, maple sugar and maple syrup.
The Farms Open event in Renfrew County is set for Sunday, September 18th from 10:00am to 4:00pm and will feature a number of local farm operations including Mapleside Sugarbush, Forest Cove Alpacas, Shulist Family Farm, Sernoskie’s Tree Farm, Alder Creek Farm, Cardaleacres, Ottawa Valley Farm to Fork, Pinnacle Haven Farm and Calabogie Rustic Farm Market.
