It’s your chance to see how different farms operate in Renfrew County. The first ever Farms Open event in Renfrew County will be hosted on Sunday, September 18th from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Ottawa Valley Farm to Fork will be a host site for the event this weekend. Owner and operator Marshall Buchanan says they use a regenerative agricultural technique. Buchanan says they grow all food with no added fertilizer using chicken and cattle to feed the gardens.
Those who attend will also get tours to meet the animals and can taste some sausage rolls and perogies that are made with vegetables grown and meat raised on the farm.
Buchanan says they will also be showing off an 1860’s log barn that’s been restored and can be rented out for weddings or events.
Ottawa Valley Farm to Fork is located at 1320 Scotch Bush Road in Douglas. You can learn more about the farm operation and check out some of the products they offer on the Ottawa Valley Farm to Fork website.
