The Local Immigration Partnership (LIP) – Lanark & Renfrew thinks sometimes the process of welcoming newcomers to our area needs a helping hand.
They’ve developed two new resources to help ensure Ottawa Valley communities are ready to welcome newcomers with open arms, according to LIP Manager, Jodi Bucholtz .
The Community Resource website portal is segmented into seven areas of interest: regular community members; employers; those who work in employment services; educators; potential refugee sponsors; allies- or agricultural businesses.
Sometimes a little self-reflection goes a long way toward opening your mind from within, and Bucholtz says for individuals or corporations wanting to be more welcoming, LIP Lanark-Renfrew now provides its Intercultural Development Inventory assessment service.
A 20-30 minute process of responding to fifty question is submitted, which are then critiqued on an individual and/or group basis.
