The first Petawawa Pickleball Friendly saw 24 competitors hit the tennis and pickleball courts at the Petawawa Civic Centre. The event was held on Saturday, September 24th. Paul Johns tells myFM the competition was friendly, but intense as everyone wanted to win. Doubles teams were selected by draw. The “A” Division winners were Cyril Roy and Bob Lescombe; the “B” Division winners were Werner Eichberg and Renee Watt with the “C” Division being won by Paul Johns and David Mathew. Johns says the event was possible thanks to support from Your Independent Grocer in Petawawa, the Petawawa Fire Department, the Town of Petawawa and staff from the Civic Centre.
