Petawawa will have 32 new banners go up along main roads in the town to honour past and present military units.
The Petawawa Rotary Club presented the idea to town council in November of 2021 as a way to show support to members of the military.
Val Hyska, the President of the Petawawa Rotary Club, says they expect to get 10-years out of each banner.
Enno Kerckhoff, the Deputy Commander of 4th Canadian Support Group in Petawawa, says it took about a year and a half to make sure they got all the cap badges right on all of the banners.
The Deputy Commander says the banners are a great reminder of the relationship between the base and the community.
The banners will go up along Petawawa Boulevard, Civic Centre Road and Victoria Street.
You can learn more about the banner program online here.
