The new seats and upgrades have been unveiled at Festival Hall in Pembroke.
Manager Rick Wharton says it’s great to see all the support from the community.
The Festival Hall Seat Campaign raised over $200,000 to replace the theatre’s seats
and complete other interior upgrades. The new chairs were designed by KI in Pembroke. A $30,000 donation from the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO) also helped paint the inside of Festival Hall.
While many theaters closed and shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic, Wharton says Festival Hall was able to survive thanks to all the different partnerships.
Local musician Frank Rodgers says he remembers performing on stage back in 1974 when they had glass windows.
Rodgers says the newly renovated Festival Hall looks amazing. You can check out some of the upcoming shows and get tickets online at festhall.ca.
