Results will be available tonight on 104.9 myFM after polls close in the municipal election. The polls will close at 8:00pm in the municipal and school board elections.
In Pembroke there are 15 people running for a six seats on City Council including Brian Abdallah, Chéla Breckon, Dan Callaghan, Andrew Clark, Ed Jacyno, Ian Kuehl, Patricia Lafreniere, Jason Laronde, Dorian Pearce, Andrew Plummer, Troy Purcell, Stacy Taylor, Karen Walsh, Wade Wallace and Jane Wood. Ron Gervais has been acclaimed and will be the next Mayor in Pembroke with current Mayor Mike LeMay not seeking re-election.
There will be a new Mayor in Petawawa for the first time in over two decades as Bob Sweet is not seeking re-election. Jody Anne McDonald and Gary Serviss are the two candidates running to replace long-time Petawawa Mayor Bob Sweet who has served as an elected official for 34-years including the last 22-years as Mayor. Eleven people are running for six seats on City Council including Simon Brooks, James Carmody, Lisa Coutu, Karen Donovan, Adam Driscoll, Gerald Hoffman, Matthew McLean, Cyndi Mills, Murray Rutz and Theresa Sabourin and Barry Schimmens.
Laurentian Valley Mayor Steve Bennett is running unopposed and has been acclaimed. The two candidates looking to replace Reeve Debbie Robinson are Chris Pleau and Keith Watt. There are nine candidates looking to fill the five remaining seats including Allen Wren, Mike Summers, Jen Gauthier, Danny Janke, Betty King, Stewart Ray, Brian Hugli, Jason Schultz and Wendy Hewitt.
Whitewater Region has Donna Burns and Neil Nicholson running for Mayor and Cathy Regier has been acclaimed as Deputy Mayor. Mark Bell, Jim Butterworth, Joe Kowaliski, Ron Laronde, Dave Mackay, Daryl McLaughlin, Michael Moore, Christopher Olmstead, Connie Tabert and Joey Trimm are the candidates in Whitewater Region.
The race for Mayor in Bonnechere Valley has four candidates including Jackie Agnew, Jennifer Murphy, Zig Mintha and Leanne Panke. Kayla Desjardins, Merv Buckwald, Kimberly Lehman, Kelly Reinert (Lavigne), John Epps, Tim Schison, Jack Roesner, Shawn Henry, Tracey Sanderson and Brent Patrick are the Bonnechere Valley council candidates.
Two candidates are looking to be the next Mayor in Admaston/Bromley including Michael Donohue and Jack Kelly. Campbell Crogie, Angela Field, Keith Gourley, Brian Hamilton, Ken Keill and Kevin Legris are the council candidates.
North Algona Wilberforce has two Mayoral candidates including James Brose and Deborah Farr. There are five candidates looking to fill the four remaining council seats including Maria Robinson, Melvin Berndt, Doug Buckwald, Kevin Clarke and Janet Reiche-Schoenfeldt.
In Deep River, Suzanne D’Eon has been acclaimed as Mayor. Glenn Doncaster and Catherine Ryan are the two candidates for Reeve and there are six people running for Deep River Town Council including Larry Dumoulin, William Fitton, Christina Giardini, Kathy Hughes, Terry Myers and Tom Vaughan.
The race in Renfrew has five people looking to replace current Mayor Don Eady who is not seeking re-election. The candidates for Mayor in Renfrew are Kate Windle, Mike Coulas, Sandi Heins, Tom Sidney and Callum Scott. Peter Emon has been acclaimed as Reeve and the eight council candidates are Andrew Dick, Richard “Clint” McWhirter, Guy Longtin, Jason Legris, Adam Laviolette, Kyle Cybulski, John McDonald and Brady Enright.
Three people are running for Mayor in Arnprior including Lisa McGee, Walter Stack and Mike Defalco. Daniel Lynch and Ron Demmers are the two Arnprior County Councillor candidates and Maureen Campbell, Chris Couper, Tiffany Lepack, Billy Denault, Tom Burnette, Brian Dougherty, Nic Edge, Kaliopi (Kelly Bee) Balilis, Chris Toner, Jake Dunn, Leslie Anne Hook and Lynn Grinstead.
In Laurentian Hills every single person running for council and Mayor have been acclaimed and in Head, Clara & Maria the race for Mayor sees incumbent Debbie Grillz against Robert Reid.
