Gary Serviss is excited to serve as the next Mayor in Petawawa. Serviss tells myFM he is honoured to have the support of local residents.
Serviss says there’s no way he would have put his name forward to run for Mayor without the 8-years of experience on council including four years as councillor and the last four years as Deputy Mayor. The incoming Mayor says he learned a lot under Mayor Bob Sweet who did not seek re-election after 34-years as an elected official and 22-years as the Mayor in Petawawa.
Keeping taxes low and affordable housing, especially for seniors, were two big issues he heard about on the campaign trail.
Serviss says the new term of council has a good mix of experience and newcomers who are eager and enthusiastic to get started.
Serviss will officially take over as the next Mayor in Petawawa after the next term of council is sworn in on November 15th, but work behind the scenes has already started.
Serviss will serve as the next Mayor of Petawawa with Theresa Sabourin as Deputy Mayor and councillors Murray Rutz, James Carmody, Lisa Coutu, Adam Driscoll and Karen Donovan.
