The Renfrew County OSPCA successfully completed their first “All Paws On Deck Pet Food Drive” in collaboration with pet stores across Pembroke and Petawawa.
This was in support of the “Pet Pantry” which is a resource provided by the OSPCA to provide free food and supplies for local pet parents who are in need.
Community Development Coordinator, Heather Jobe says that pet food, toys, and monetary donations were given by community members.
Jobe explains that the purpose of the “Pet Pantry” is to keep families and their pets together, especially in times of need.
If you or someone you know could use food or supplies for your pets, Jobe talks about how to access the “Pet Pantry” and other OSPCA resources.
Jobe says there were many local businesses and organizations from across the Ottawa Valley, including myFM and Mike’s Hardware who were involved in helping run the event.
The OSPCA hopes to hold this food drive every year in support of the animals and families in our own communities who are in need of support.
