For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, the Pembroke Lumber Kings were able to join the fight against cancer. During Sunday’s home game against the Kemptville 73’s, it was PLK Fights Cancer night, where the team wore special purple jerseys that were then auctioned off during the game. All the proceeds went to support the Cancer Care Campaign at the Pembroke Regional Hospital. In total, $1,910 was raised. If you missed out on the night, you can contact Jeris Finley to get on the list to order a purple jersey – jerisfinley@gmail.com.
