The annual December 6th vigil, honoring women in Renfrew County and beyond who have been murder will once again be held at the Women’s Monument in Petawawa. JoAnne Brooks from Ending Violence Against Women – Renfrew County shares the history of the date.
Brooks also mentions that in light of the day, they are planning a special bus trip to Ottawa in February.
The spokeswoman from Ending Violence Against Women – Renfrew County says thanks to donations, they were able to cover costs to work that needed to be done to the monument.
All are welcome to attend and the ceremony begins at 11am on Tuesday, December 6th.
