The annual OPP Stuff a Cruiser fundraiser or the St. Joseph’s Food Bank in Pembroke was once again a huge success. According to the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP, $4,500 in cash was collected over the weekend, along with hundreds of pounds of food to help stock the shelves. All donations went directly to the local Kiwanis Club Toy Drive, St. Joseph’s Food Bank in Pembroke, and the Petawawa Pantry food bank in Petawawa. OPP officers were set up at in Pembroke at the Metro, No Frills, Walmart and Hyska’s Your Independent Grocer.
UOV OPP Detachment Operations Manager Staff Sgt. MaryAnn MacNeil would like to thank the OPP Auxiliary members for their initiative and their efforts towards contributing to the well-being of those in need in our community. Staff Sgt. MacNeil stated, “Once again, the support from the community for this annual event was simply amazing. Even with challenging economic times upon us, our local residents gave generously and literally help us ‘stuff the cruiser’. Despite high winds, and heavy rain at times, our Auxiliary Officers showed their dedication and commitment to helping those in need.”
