myFM news has sat down with Pembroke Mayor Ron Gervais to discuss the cancellation of a number of city advisory committees. The Mayor tells us that when making the decision, he looked at the behind the scene work that goes on for these committees.
Gervais also tells myFM that he’d be lying if he didn’t say the cost to operate them wasn’t a factor.
In an exclusive interview with myFM, he breaks down why he made the decision and tells us that a final decision from council will come in January.
City councilor Troy Purcell has already put forward a notice of motion that he plans to reinstate the committee. The first meeting of city council is open to the public and you can also watch online.
