Three local United Church congregations have come together in an effort to improve local health care. The Upper Ottawa Valley Parish Nursing Initiative looks to launch in early 2023, according to Revered Tiina Cote, Minister for Calvin United Church.

The initiative will be initially operated by three Upper Ottawa Valley United Church congregations. The Health Council’s goal is to expand this parish nurse healthcare ministry to include more UCC churches and community agencies in the Upper Ottawa Valley in the future. Cote goes on to say that taking on such an initiative can be a little overwhelming.
