The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) encourages residents to get all the COVID-19 Boosters they should.
Dr. Ian Gemmill, Acting Medical Officer of Health, RCDHU, says the Health Unit is seeing an increase in local COVID-19 cases and facility outbreaks.
Gemmill says immunization offers the greatest protection; it is recommended that individuals five years of age and over stay up to date.
You should get a COVID-19 booster dose if it has been:
Three months since a COVID-19 infection or your last COVID-19 vaccine for individuals who are at high risk.
Six months since a COVID-19 infection or your last COVID-19 vaccine for individuals aged five years and over who are not at high risk of severe COVID-19 illness.
Individuals 6 months of age and older can receive other vaccines at the same time or at any time before or after a COVID-19 vaccine, with informed consent.
Following all COVID protocols remains the top precaution for personal protection.
Check the RCDHU website for a vaccine clinic near you, or get boosted at a participating pharmacy.
