For the last 10 years, Ovila has been a key member of the local union, LiUNA, Local 527. Following in his father’s footsteps, Mousseau Jr. tells myFM that he went into his construction job with very little experience. He says having a job with a pension was a focal point when applying to the union. Ovila says he loves his job, simply to due to the fact that the job is never the same. What he does changes daily to whatever needs to be done. Mousseau Jr. tells myFM that the union will always support you if you’re looking to upgrade your career. He says they cover things like courses to enhance your skills, along with onsite job learning. Over the years, Ovila says he’s learned basic home construction work, how to operate heavy machinery and even concrete work.
