An organization called Pleo is launching a pilot project with local health organizations to offer to parents who are looking after children and teenagers with mental health problems. Bonnie Schryer, a peer parent support with Pleo tells us more about the organization that started prior to the pandemic.
The Pleo and Partners Moblie Support Group will be making a few stops across Renfrew County during 2023. They will be hosting a support session on the third Tuesday of every month in different locations. The first one happening tomorrow (April 18th) at the Bonnechere Union Public Library from 6:30 until 8 pm. Schyer also mentions that anyone can call their hotline.
What parents and caregivers can expect is a wealth of knowledge about what help is available.
