Filming across the globe has landed a local production agency some serious recognition.
Beachburg-based Heliconia is being recognized by this year’s 44th annual Telly Awards for exceptional storytelling, creativity, and production quality in television and digital programming.
They picked up a pair of Telly awards in the General-Entertainment category: Paddle Tale’s “Paddling Dominica,” which took viewers on an adventure through the island nation in the Caribbean, won a Gold Telly award.
Meanwhile, their YouTube series “Great Family Adventure” would also end up winning a Silver Telly for its episode where hosts Emily Jackson, Nick Troutman, and their two children explored the Ottawa River in the Beachburg area, which is Nick’s hometown.
Lastly, Heliconia would wrap up their awards haul with a Bronze Telly in the General-Nature/Wildlife category for an episode of their acclaimed TV show “Epic Trails“, where host Eric Hanson guided viewers through a backpacking trip in Peru’s Ancash region.
Heliconia has now won 18 Telly Awards in the past 5 years for their outdoor and travel-based content.
President and Founder Ken Whiting says he’s “immensely proud and honored” to receive the prestigious awards, adding that “this recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team.”
He also adds that they are also “proud to present this type of content to audiences that share our mission of getting people outdoors and travelling.”
