The public is invited to a memorial service for one of the lives lost in a recent helicopter crash near Garrison Petawawa.
Captain Marc Larouche will be honoured by the Royal Canadian Air Force and his colleagues as two helicopters fly over the Garrison at around 2:00pm on Friday, July 7th.
Captain Larouche was one of two people killed after a Chinook helicopter fell into the Ottawa River near Garrison Petawawa during training on June 20th.
While you can attend, the RCAF is asking that you respect the privacy of the family at this time by not taking photos or videos of the event. A private ceremony for family will be held at Zion Cemetery following the service. A funeral guard from 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron will also perform a rifle volley in memory of the Captain at the cemetery.
A separate memorial for Captain David Domagala, who was also killed in the crash, was held in Woodstock on Tuesday, July 4th.
