A major expansion project is underway at Ronald McDonald House Charities Ottawa (RMHCO), the organization that provides a home-away-from-home for families whose children need medical care at CHEO. The project will increase the number of suites from 14 to 36, allowing RMHCO to serve more than twice as many families each year.
Christine Hardy, CEO, RMHCO says, “With this expansion, we will be able to meet the growing demand for our services and ensure that no family is left without a place to stay when they need it most.”
The Ottawa House will stay in its current location, just 167 steps from CHEO. The new building will be environmentally friendly and accessible, with net zero carbon, LEED gold and Rick Hansen Foundation gold certifications.
