Extracting aggregates outside the boundaries of your licence can prove costly.
Pine Valley Developments and its president Steven Liedtke have pled guilty to operating a pit without a licence and were each fined $37,500.
Including the victim fine surcharge, the total penalty amounts to $93,750.
In a case heard June 19th at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke, it was revealed that between January 1st of 2016, and October 15th in 2017, Pine Valley and Liedtke extracted aggregate outside their licence boundary and sold it commercially.
Aggregate inspectors with the MNRF inspected the pit, discovering the violations and conservation officers then executed a warrant to seize reated evidence.
Justice of the Peace Louise Logue issued sentencing on July 10th.
